What's the differance between the DDR2, dual channe, and DDR3 and any other type of RAM they might have out there. I just can't seem to keep up with it since I retired serveral years ago. I'm building a Quad system and I don't want to spend $150 on RAM so could you please advice me. I don't even know what kind of a quad system I'm going to build. Boy get out of the computer feild for 2 years and I need to be re educated.

DDR, DD2 and DDR3 are different memory specifications. DDR2 offers more bandwidth than DDR (other improvements as well) and DDR3 offers more bandwidth than DDR2 again with more improvements thrown in. DD2 is the cheapest right now but DDR3 should start getting cheaper soon.
