THis relates back to my other post. http://www.computerforum.com/showthread.php?t=24436
An AMD system only supports DDR while INTEL supports DDR2.
I can get DDR RAM w/ timings of 2-3-2-5 (lowest available)
or
I can get DDR2 RAM w/ timings of 4-4-4-8 (lowest available)
The prices are comparable but the timing is a little bit better on DDR.
My question is... Is the future of RAM in DDR2 (since it is newer tech) or would i benifit more from the 3ns lower timing of DDR? I would rather have a product that wont be phased out in 2 yrs (maybe DDR) instead of the speed boost. But if DDR is here to stay why not.
I might upgrade in 4 yrs. Had my comp now for 3.
