How much difference is there in performance between Corsair 2gb DDR2 800 Mhz AND 667 Mhz memory.

I will have a nVida 680i C2D SLI motherboard, C2D E6600 2.4 Ghz proc, and a nVida 8800GTS 640 mb card.

Thanks

You wont notice a difference, as long as the timings are set to comparable specs.

You can always overclock the RAM yourself to save some money if you cant afford the DDR2-800.

ive heard that frequency is allot more imporant and that timings really only show up in benchmarks. true?

The score of DDR2-667 @ 3-3-3-10 roughly matches the benchmark results of DDR2-800 @ 5-5-5-15. So the timings make some difference but generally more clock speed makes a bigger difference for less cost.

It's both, because if you have DDR2-667 @ CL4 but DDR2-800 at CL6, there wont be much of a difference in real world or benchmarks. But lower that to CL5 or CL4, and it becomes much faster.
