are they both 240-pin and if a motherboard supports ddr3 does it also support ddr2?

are ddr3 sticks capable of running at ddr2 speeds like 1066mhz... 5-5-5-15?

nope. ddr3 and ddr2 have the notches at different points, so , different slots required for them.
ddr3 are crazy fast btw...

yea i know. im going for a crazy fast build though and i dont want my memory to bottleneck. we'll see though, haven't quite decided on what im going to do. maybe i'll wait for the next big thing after quad core to come out.

Yes they are both 240-pin, however the notches are different so they don't actually fit in the same slot. For timings, they have DDR3 1066, however the lowest timings I have really seen for those are either CL6 or CL7 (7-7-7-21 is most common), with time they will be able to run lower timings, but not yet. They also run at lower voltages such as 1.6v.
