Hey Guys!

Ok so what are sum differnces between DDR2 RAM and DDR3 RAM? any really noticable difference for the price...any adavantges??? and info about DDR3 RAM would help. thanks for your input.:D

Architectural changes resulting in a greater possible bus speed and bandwidth. I think it uses a smaller fab process resulting in lower power consumption and cooler operation. Another abstruse difference I know of is an improved transistor set that reduces electro-migrational effects, this means less metal/thermal fatigue but is of less real world consequence.

Despite this DDR3 is not worth the premium at the mo'. The timings are much higher than ddr2, which acts to balance the improved speeds/bandwidth and keep performance down. It will of course develop into the standard, when all it's pitfalls are made gone.

DDR3 prices have come down drastically, you can pickup a 2GB kit of DDR3-1333 for under $90 now.

For me, it's not so much the price difference for the RAM, but the price difference for a DDR3 compatible motherboard. If you can afford it though, I would definitely go with it.

yes i can afford it...just dont know if its really worth gettin?

The disadvantage is the price of Double Data Rate 3 memory and the motherboards that use it. Costly compared to DDR2 memory and motherboards.
