DDR3 Higher Speed Vs Lower Timings?

So is it better to get 1333 6-6-6-20 vs 1600 7-7-7-24 vs 1800 8-8-8-25 etc.


So what is faster/better?

As long as your motherboard supports it (you may need to manually set the speed), get the DDR3-1800.

Going with the OCZ Reaper 1600's 8Gb. It has just the right price. Too bad the triple channel kit it cheaper....

Well, you can always get a I7 and run it in triple channel.

Higher speed as long as the mobo supports it. My 1600, even though at a cas latency of 9, is faster than my old ddr2-1066 ram with a CL of 5.

Correct, but ddr3-1600 with a CL of 7 is pretty expensive. I paid $70 for 2X2gb of ddr3-1600 with a CL of 9, and as I said earlier it's faster than my old 1066 ddr2 CL5.
