Hello all,

I know the question will have been asked a lot over the years but here goes again.

Currently I have 2 sticks of 4gb corsair ram duel channel to make 8gb

I want to go up too 16gb of ram with another 2x4gb duel channel ram

Will this work or will I need a quad channel kit?

Dual channel is fine. It's not going to run in quad channel anyway (You'd have four slots the same color).

Channeling is just a function of the memory controller. You could populate each bank with ham sandwiches and have dual channel tastiness consumption.

Why do you have RAM that fights itself?

He has ham sandwich ram fighting each other to be the one that doesn't get eaten by his OS.

Yes you cam run 4 sticks in dual channel just fine. It will probable default to the slowest set. Sometimes with 4 stick you might have to bump up your memory controller V just a tad.
