I was looking at a dead insprion 1525 for someone, and it acts like it isn't getting power. But I know it is.
I thought the power board was bad so I ordered a new one ($5 total) and replaced it, same thing. with the battery in and it plugged in to ac, the charging light does not come on. when you press the power button it does nothing. I checked the back of the power jack with a meter, and it had power. I also checked the pins for the battery with the battery unplugged (ac plugged in) and some of the pins had about 4 volts on them. So the motherboard is charging the battery, but the charging light won't come on and it will not power on.
I have tried reseating the processor and ram, nothing. I also removed the cmos battery for a while, but I didn't check the voltage on it.
I am assuming the mobo is bad, but its odd that it doesn't even show that its charging.
Any idea appreciated!!
