Dead PC

Hello. I'm helping a teacher out at school with some computers that he put in his room by installing wi-fi cards in all three of them. Well, the Emachines (yeah, Emachines) computer was working, it was just slow. Now it won't even turn on. What do you think is wrong; power supply or motherboard? The power button led won't even come on. If it's the psu, I could probably fix it for cheap, as he plans to purchase new computers for the room. Any ideas? Thanks.

hmm, tricky, mabe it didnt respond well to the new hardware, so many things that could go wrong, not starting at all makes me think instantly core hardware, psu, cpu or mo/bo faults

He didnt overlook the obvious and had the switch turned off on the back of the P/S.

Check the power supply.

Has he tried a different power lead, I went to work one day to find the fuse in mine had gone overnight!

You could also try the ol' start a computer with a screwdriver technique... maybe it's a bad switch.
