Found this article about new technology that apparently, may in the future make games consoles and gaming computers obsolete.

http://tech.uk.msn.com/news/article.aspx?cp-documentid=15368791

The article mentions Crysis, but are they serious? Are they talking about real games for real gamers here? It's such a massive industry that I can hardly believe it...

EDIT: Placed in wrong catagory please move :( Oops!

That's a pretty cool idea. It wouldn't really put anything out of date though, because the xbox 360 and the PS3 both have really strong online connectivity. The wii might get cut, because it may lack the cpu to decompress it all fast enough, but oh well. Wii doesnt have any new half decent games anyways.

I actually saw a tv show here in Germany about that. The show is called GIGA and it is about everything from cell phone games to the extreme end computers and games.

The topic was "OnLive" the exact same thing this article is about. You will be able to buy, play and store all game data in on online account. The console is about the size on a small external hard drive...that's it! It streams all High Def video with zero lag. Everything will be available...every computer and console game. It showed the menu and there were thousands to choose from. A game will only cost, they predicted 10-12 Euros, about $15 U.S. dollars.

Can you really imagine computer and console games being obsolete? If this thing hits the mainstream market...it could be huge and change the face of gaming forever.
