debading over i7 3820

As the title says I,m debading with a friend.
he is saying that even if you have a decent videocard, the i7 3820 is at is stock speeds not strong enough for the big games, like bf4 and crysis.
so whats you your opinion.
hope that when he see that people desigree with him he starts to believe that it is strong enough.

yes that I know, but when would this cpu not be strong enough at stock speeds, with a gtx 780ti its I think still fast enough

Yeah just going to second it, a 3820 is more then enough for modern games like BF4 and Crysis 3. My 8350, which performs a bit worse then a 3820 in almost every game could max out Crysis 3 with a R9 290 with over 40 FPS (and BF4 is easier to run). A 780ti would be able to get a good 60 in Crysis 3 and BF4.

indeed that has nothing to do with the gtx 770 and the i7 3820

yea video cards have always been more gpu bound than cpu bound. unless you're talking about a real weak cpu.
