How many of you have heard or use deepfeeze? I use it and its great!

Deepfeeze is a program that you install, and once its installed and you restart, any changes that are made to your computer can be undone by simply restarting. So if you get a virus or loads of spyware, this deletes them on boot.

Most people would ask, "What about my documents or programs?", i create a seperate partition for documents and programs, so i can make changes to them and it wont be gone on boot, and you can set a "thaw" state so you can make changes and stuff.

I just got it so i thought i would share my experiences :)

It resets EVERYTHING! I've heard you can even format your machine and it'll revert back when you reboot...

I used to use this on my video machine. The primary drive has deepfreeze on it so it would always work. Of course the storage drive didn't so I could actually keep my work ;P That machine worked great for years untill I decided to upgrade. I don't have a specialized video editor anymore so I have no real reason for the prog...

My highschool uses deepfreeze and it's a pain when the idiot across from you hits the switch on the surge protector and you lose the website you were working on, but then they blame you for doing it. Also, my friend had deepfreeze once and it ended up screwing his computer on several occasions. The only good experience I've had with it is that the class managed to figure out the code to disable Deepfreeze for that section of the school.

lol, i figured out how to get around deepfreeze at me school, but i dont think it was totaly legal:) Im thinking about getting it. What would happen if you wanted to install a large program though?
EDIT: O ok i get it now. I love it! I have the evaluated version. Its Awesome. I need to edit my partitions now because me C drive is 100GB and then i have a 20Gb partition, and another 120GB partition.

I was able to reformat when it was installed. Our school uses it also, its really useful for when people mess around with stuff.

I like it since i can just try out some settings, and if my comp gets screwed up i just need to reboot :)

And also, if you need to install a program or make any changes, just press SHIFT, then double-LEFT mouse click on the deep freeze icon, set it to "thaw", then when you reboot it will allow you to make changes.

Lol, just make sure you get all the spyware/viruses off you comp before you freeze your comp:)
ya, lol

I usually reformat my comp and install a fresh clean copy of Windows XP, configure everything, then freeze it.
