i don't even know where i should post this, but i just got a new job that involves me learning a lot about computers and the terminology. i joined this site years ago, started a couple of threads (which if you read you'll see how little i know about computers) and then haven't posted since. anyway, basically i'm forced to know about all kinds of things now and was wondering if you people would be so kind as to help me. i keep looking up definitions for things on the internet, then when i get to the definition, it uses about 5 terms that i don't understand, then i have to look up those terms, and those terms use more terms i don't understand, so i have to then look those ones up... and so on...
firstly can anyone recommend any up-to-date books that will just lay everything out for me from the start in the most straight forward way. you know, start with very simple things (explained in the most simple english) and eventually get harder along the way.
and also, can someone give me an idea of what XML is in laymans terms?
