Defragmenting

Hi,

It seems that after defragmenting I still have Total fragmentation at 5% and File Fragmentation at 10%. There are no broken files and so on listed and no matter how often I defrag it still says that. Has anyone else experienced this before?
 
Most likely because the fragmented files are being in use by the OS. If you can, try to defrag in safe mode.
 
Another thing I do is turn off my pagefile before defraging, so that the data there can be consolidated also.
 
I'm using thired party soft (don't remember the name and can't check because it's on my other comp where mobo is fried - but it's something like Diskeeper i think...). It's defragmenting nonfragmentable parts of hd on reboot. It's checking fragmenting and performance of the files. You can also keep it on all the time and it will arange new files for best performance as well.

Munkyeetr's suggestion worked..it was the pagefile that wasnt getting defragmented. Thanks again for your help
