Degree in the "Smart Phone" Industry?

I'm currently an IT major at the University I attend, but recently I've become obsessed with the Mobile Communications/Smart Phones/etc. Just everything behind the scenes, the screens, the processors, etc.

I was wondering if there is a certain degree that I could pursue in that industry? I've tried researching it, but I'm not sure what the degree would be called. "mobile communications" doesn't really turn up any results, I was hoping someone out there could help me. Thanks!
 
If you're interested in the big picture then you would want to look into telecommunications. If you're interested in the development and manufacturing of mobile devices then computer or electrical engineering would be the way to go.
 
I'd probably have to start all the way over then. I guess I could technically get an Associates in IT, then advance to a Bachelors in Telecommunications. What kind of jobs do you think that would open up?
