delaying ,...., Stucking ,...., 2nd HD :/

i had an 80GB hard disk on my pc and half filled
now i have putted a second hd 80 gb too but....
when i surf on the windows explorer
on my Hard Disk,my documents,programme files...and all the other folders there
it takes long to open each folder (like 7-8 sec to open a folder)..Dont know what the delay is about . The second HD ?? the half filled primary HD ? and i dont know what to do.

And Something Else .... Are those programms that "say" that they free up ram memory that a small programma in the system tray and you choose to free all ur ram memory.... Are those programms doing any good ?
 
I had this same problem. It only happened when I mixed a IDE hard drive with a SATA hard drive. I had plugged the IDE hard drive directly into the IDE ribbon, and the SATA inot the port. It seems Dell says you cant do this. So i purchased the $30 IDE to SATA converter and now my IDE hard drive plugs into the additional SATA port. You did not mention which type of drive you have but that seems kind of important.

How disorganized are your files? Tried running a defrag?
