Delete file before system boot up

Hi everyone! I wish to know the possible ways to delete a file before all the processes are started when I boot up the system. For Windows 2000/XP...I tried using wininit.ini but it is not working. Thanks

what do you need to kill, you can do this lots of way, are you wanting to do this as a one off, or do you need to do this every boot???

try HijackThis! select Misc Tools and got to "Remove file of reboot"
