hi everyone... this is my first post.. wasnt sure where to put it but this seems like a good place :)

basically ive got a laptop that has vista on it. Ive had it dual booted with XP and have now decided that i prefer XP. The only problem is i have no idea how to remove the Vista because it was the 1st one installed and i dnt know if the XP has any link to it.
I dnt want to remove XP only to find out it will mess up the XP

Any ideas guys/gals??

If you delete your Vista partition, it will no longer allow you to boot into XP, as the boot manager will be using the Vista loader, and not vice versa.

You will have to do a "Repair" using the Windows XP install disc once Vista is gone.

^^ Exactly!! If he would have installed XP first then Vista then, deleting or reformating the Vista partition would NOT do anything to the xp partition. Because Vista has the bootloader so if you get rid of Vista and keep xp, Xp does not need a bootloader.

so basically... remove the vista partition and put my XP disc in when i next turn it on, and then follow the on screen commands?!?!
cheers
