Deleted 120Gbs of movies by mistake...

it never went in, i mindlessly continued clicking wen it was telling me that the folder was tp big for the recycle bin...so the folder didnt go thru recycle bin

Well you could try the free "Recuva" by the same people who do CCleaner
http://www.piriform.com/recuva

But the longer it goes on and the more reading/writing to the Hard Disc that's being done then the folder will get fragmented/overwritten.

EDIT: can't be that important to you otherwise you would have made a backup ;)

*sigh*, tried "Recuva" but it was only able to get me like 3 movies back...

and i feel like an idiot for passing up the chance to backup this afternoon

pple were talking about Restoration 3.2, but i cant get it to run because its telling me access denied cuz im not logged on to administrators account eventho theres only 1 account on the laptop :/

when you delete something larger than a specific size that file(s) goes past the recycle bin and get wiped from the hard drive....

i have lost alot of stuff from my drives in my time, more than 120gig!

best advice

buy another hard drive the same size as the other and just backup your stuff!

You didn't loose your films in a disk failure. You deleted them so there is about 97% of them being recovered by any programs.
