I rather stupidly accidentally deleted driver: D while i was in command prompt. I would like to know if there is any way to resolve this. I am not a very knowledgeable user so would require the information and steps to be very clear and easy to follow. Thanks

Local Disc D, original one that was there when the computer was first installed
I deleted the driver by doing the following:
Typed 'Diskpart'
Then typed 'List Volume'
Then typed ' Select Volume 2'
Then im not sure what I did, i either typed clean or delete
But didnt realise what I had done till after i had done it

Drive, not driver. There's a big difference there. When I read "deleted driver: D", I thought you were using an emoticon.

Anyway. What's done is done. Once you delete a partition, it's gone. You can go to the start menu and search for "Disk Management". In here, you can see your empty space, right click it and create a new partition with D as the driver letter.

And this is why you don't play around with dispart unless you know what you're doing.

Even if you delete a partition, the data is still there. You just need to recover the partition. You can use something like EaseUS to recover the partition.
