Deleting an inbox?

Hey all. I recently imported a bunch of old e-mail folders from Thunderbird on a Mac to Thunderbird on a Linux (Ubuntu) PC. I imported the old inbox as well because the person I was doing this for said he needed the files in it.

However, now I'm stuck with 2 inbox folders, and I'd like to delete one.

Is there any way to do this? Thanks!

Make sure everything was imported to the local folders. If so, they should all just merge.

If that didn't work, did you try deleting the extra inbox?

Yeah, everything was imported to the local folder, including the old inbox. The new inbox, however, is not in the local folders, it's above that. I tried right clicking the old inbox to choose "delete," but the option doesn't seem to exist... At least, not in the same way other folders can be deleted.

I'm actually having a similar problem with having two trash folders.

What about starting in safe mode then trying same.
Or and going to explorer and find directory then delete.

Another thought:
Goto start type %appdata% and find thunderbird. Might be able to delete from there.
If i ever wanted a clean install after uninstalling a program i always went here and deleted all occurrences of the program. running out of ideas also.

He's running Ubuntu. He can not go to start -> run -> %appdata%

Hey all, thanks for all the ideas!

So, what i ended up doing was going into my Thunderbird folder and navigating the to "local folders" area, and I simply deleted the "inbox" files. That successfully got rid of the inbox I wanted to delete. (Although for some strange reason the same method didn't work for the second trash folder, but I think I'll just leave that and call it quits).

Thanks again!
