deleting files takes up space

Hello,

when ever i delete something from my (C:) (and of course also out of my Recycle Bin) instead of getting more free space i get less.... any idea why?

Download and run ccleaner for starters. Can't explain why you would be losing space instead of gaining it.
 
In windows 7, when you delete things, it'll increase from, say, 10GB free to 11GB free when looking at My Computer. Are you sure you aren't confusing the two?
