deleting individual fils on CD-RW?

My CD does not allow me to delete individual files that I have written on it. I can only delete nothing or everything. It says it is read-only. How can I change this so that individual files can be deleted?

Right-click, drag and copy the files from the CD that you want to save to, say, your desktop, and burn a new disc.
Otherwise you're probably going to need packet-writing software the next time you put a CD-RW in your drive. Then the entire CD-RW will be treated like a huge floppy.

Could you describe the packet-writing software a bit more? And provide a link to where I could possibly download it? I like the idea of treating my CD-RW as a floopy.

Also is it true that DVD-RW or DVD+RW cannot record any file but specific DVD related files?

Thanks

Nero InCD is Ahead's packet writing software, you can download a trial version from their website. A few other options include Roxio Direct CD, NTI File CD or Sonic DLA. Here's a little more info: http://pages.prodigy.net/jdjd/cdr/packet.htm

No, that's not true. You can use DVDs to hold data just like CDs.

Do you have a DVD-Burner? Or one that's compatable with DVD+R disks?

Yeah I do. I used Nero and it worked. One possible problem is that the first time it asked me if I wanted multi session recording but for all the later times it didn't have that option. Does that mean I cannot delete individual files again for the recordings after the first time? If not than how can I make it so that individual files can be deleted?
