Deleting old updates

Hi, I use windows XP, service pack 1. When I looked under the controll panels ad/remove programs, all the previous updates where at the bottom. I was wondering if it is possible to delete these without messing up my computer. Is it?

You can delete them but its not reccomended. Also why are you still on sp1? Do you not want sp2? They are goign to stop supporting sp1 very soon if they already havent dont so...

for some reason my computer crashed when i tried to switch to sp1

What are your system specs? That shouldnt happen with upgrading from sp1 to sp2.....

1.8 Ghz pentium 4 processor
1.5 Gb ram
128 Mb ram on graphic card

You meet the minimum and then some what exactly did it do when you tried to update to sp2?

it upgraded and said it needed to reeboot. But when it was starting again it only got to the windows logo, then nothing happend.
