Deleting windows 2000

/how easy is it to remove an operating system from your hard drive. What folder is it kept in. I have windows 2000 professional.

Any help appreciated.
 
The best way that I know of to remove a OS is to reformat the computer. Which means you would need a boot disk for the computer and go a few things to do it. But this also wipes out everything else on your computer. Are you tring to remove windows 2000 and put a new one in?
 
No I'm installing a new hard drive. I'm intending on keeping the original 6gb as a master with just the operating system on it. The new 160gb I want to transfer over all my other files. I thought the easiest way to do this was to use Norton Ghost to transfer all the files over then simply (or not) delete the operating system off the slave.
