DELL 15" LCD Error message

I have a DELL LCD 15" E153FPc monitor and it gives me an error message on the screen saying, "Cannot Display This Video Mode" and turns off.

As soon as I turn it on and as soon as it get the start up signal from the PC it gives me that mesasage in white letters on a black screen, and shuts off.

I changed the video settings on the PC to 800X600 (The lowest setting) but I got the same message.

I tried another Dell LCD monitor and it works fine. SO the problem is not in the PC or video card.

Any Ideas?
 
Have you tried to D/L the driver from Dell?

If you have the service tag - you can type it in Dell's support page - and it will give you a list of all the Drivers for your PC. Download and install the drivers and see if that works.
 
Are there menu buttons on the monitor? Sometimes there is resolution settings on there that can be adjusted. Its possible that the monitor can't handle the refresh rate. Boot to safe mode and change it and then reboot in regular mode and see if it works.
 
If it has an auto adjust function on the monitor run it. sounds like your refresh rate is too high.
