i have a dell optiplex 7010 and the dvd went out i bought a replacement for a 7010
but the conectors are different the one i bought haa two sata plugs but my computer
has a sata plug and a p4 plug. can any one tell me if there is an adapter or where i
can get the right dvd writer.

Are you sure about that? A sata dvd drive is gonna have a sata power connector. There were some drives years ago that had the sata and the molex 4 pin connector but either could be used. Or maybe that was the old hdd's.

Basically what you need is this.

Heck I think I have a few in my computer parts closet. You might even be able to buy one at a local repair shop.

Need to see the actual connector. You need to either resize the photo smaller or save it as a jpg file.

Wow, one of those things. I'm pretty sure this adapter will work for you.

You just connect the sata data cable and that p4 plug to one end and then the other end gets attached to the dvd drive. I actually had to do this with a machine a few years ago. Not sure what I ended up buying for it though.

Or maybe this.
