Dell Activation Problem

Hi, Need Expert Help: I ve dell receovery CD but when i install this on an Emachine system it install windows xp2 but for 30 days and asking activation key, when same cd if i installed on Dell Pc it does not asked anything coz its make for Dell. Any Solution? i

Yes, the Dell install is locked to the Dell computer.

You'll need to buy another copy of Windows for the second pc.

You can do it this way.Click that you want to register and then select the second option which will tell you the number to call Microsoft.Then call the Microsoft and tell them the number which is written on your stick attached to your computer and then they will help you to register the Windows XP.Of course you must own the original Windows XP CD-ROM disk...

Have you tried puting in the key on the side of the dell on the emachine when it asks for it?

Microsoft could not care less about this Dell OEM copy of Windows.

OEM copies are warrantied/serviced through the manufacturer, not Microsoft.
