Dell And Amd?!??!?!!!??!?!??

oh yeah dell dont build computers with amd correct? as i seen alot of their commercials and it is all celerons and pentium 4 with hyperthreadings wow.

Think Dell told Intel they would only use there processors, they probably sell Dell the processors for hardly nothing and threatened Dell to really jack up the price if they sold AMD systems too! Just my thought?

kinda same here. wasnt there a lawsuit that AMD sued(sp?) Intel or Dell for like only using Intel systems becuase they did an illegal deal or sumtin??

ya correct. Dell only uses Intel processors.

i think after seeing that review between amd dual cores and intel dual cores on cnet.com dell realized how much better AMD was.

maby but the cost of having AMD CPU's is more than Intels
if they did have both intel and amd then i bet people would still buy the intels seeing that its cheaper and that they dont need the all the power of amd. (remeber dell's main customers are your everyday person, who might not kno much about comps and are looking for a good deal, thats y they turn to dell.....)

If they sell both I imagein they will stick AMD CPUs n their XPS (gaming) line because that's AMD's strong point, that nad high-powered servers. Intel's will probably still go in their "budget" computers and workstations as well as laptops I think.

Yea they probably have a monopoly with Dell.
eMachines has Intel/AMD processors, dont know about others...

u know whats funny? go buy a cheap dell, change the mobo yourself and add an amd processor and then try sell em on ebay and see if anyone will pay big bucks for it lol. sorta like the xbox 360 sorta rare right now.

if Dell uses AMD processor, it'll just confuse the hell outta those ppl who dono bout computesr. I mean just a few years ago i had no idea wth all the numbers on an AMD Athlon XP or 64. Especially when they didn't show the clockspeed or the clockspeed is diff between different processors with the same number.

I was thinking that too, theyre gonna go strictly by numbers....

Intel 3.0Ghz or AMD 2.4, theyll pick the Intel.
