hey, my friends computer is a somewhat old dell and when we went into the BIOS we were able to get to the settings, but im not sure if we can overclock it. what do you think? i go to CPU settings and a screen pops up saying, "CPU-Normal or compatible" and you have to make a choice between one. and the the screens below say BUS- 533Mhz, and some other stuff too. over all ther were 4 boxes. one showed cache too. but i couldnt edit the BUS whis is what you have to change i belive. that and the multiplier right?
thanks guys.

i think i should say never mind because when i went back into the BIOS it showed that the things you could change were in white while the things you cant are in blue. so the only things in blue were the RAM options and the CPU options. sorry guys:(

Bingo:) You'll find that certain MoBo will allow for lots of BIOS tweaks, while other allow for very little, so it's not just Dell in this case. However, on average, pre-build companies tend to lock out more than companies that sell their Boards for Retail do, simple because the pre-built companies don't want folks playing around inside the 'guts'.
