I want to istall a new mobo and I need to get a WinXP boot CD, or make one. I would rather just buy one from Dell though. Does anyone know if they sell them, or will i have to make my own and risk it? thanks
Let me tell you that i went thorugh the same exact thing. Make sure that your mobo that you want to install is from DELL. If it is not...like you bought a new mobo that was not from dell, ur going to have ti TATOO you motherboard. It would cost like $30 at bestbuy, but i paid them, and they couldnt do it, and there were no refunds for service charges, so that sucks for me. So, if ur mobo is from DELL, make sure it is coded to work with ur current setup, give them ur model number and stuff, and then u would buy the restore disks from dell. If u buy it from newegg or something, u would need to buy the Retail/OEM Operating system.
