I have a Dell, but i want to biuld my next computer. I hope to keep it cheap and use as many parts of my Dell as I cant to save money. The problem is I don't know much. The Dell is a Dimension 4700. Can I reuse this case? I dont know the difference between it and others. And also, can I still use the PSU? I dont know anything about this unit so im looking for some help.

Thanks alot. Sorry for dumb questions, but im just getting into this.

Dell is garbage. Dont reuse anything. Especially the PSU. I am sure the PSU in there is crap and crappy PSUs = buying new equpment efter it burns up. I know the PSU in my old Demention B110 was only 275 watts.... Or maybe it was 225? I forgot. But I remember it blowed.

Thanks!

I guess that means i need to start looking for basically everything.

Except:
Mouse (wireless optical)
Keyboard (wireless)
Monitor (Dell, but good enough)
???Dual Drives (DVD-ROM and CD burner)???<- Are these good enough to keep? There made by toshiba. It says right on them.

Dell's PSU's are really a piece of s**t. Not only are they custom made for Dell, they have crappy wattage, and crappy amount of amps on the power rails. Btw, when I saw they're custom made for Dell, they're a special design, so that if you do try to upgrade a Dell, you need to use Dell parts, and Dell gets to rip you off for parts. Same thing goes for the case...a piece of custom made crap.

If you need suggestions for a decently priced case/PSU, I'd recommend the ones I've got.

Case- I'd suggest any of these. They usually have sales/rebates on some of them..right now you can get the blue one for $35. They're sturdy and reliable cases for an excellent price.

PSU- I'd suggest this one...500W (most likely more than your Dell), and it has dual +12V rails with 20A on each. I haven't had any problems with it...all the voltages are stable, etc.

Thanks alot.
I already posted in the Desktop Computer section, because from what I've read, I think im gonna start from scratch, other than the like 4 things I can carry over. Im hoping to get some more good suggestions to make a cheap, but better than my dell, computer.
