dell inspiron 1150

ok im new here.. but i know how to work on computers and upgrade them and stuff.. but ok.. i have a dell inspiron 1150 notebook and it worked fine until my cousin convinced me to put linux on it instead of windows xp ( stupid mistake btw) but now im trying to put xp back on it and i cant get the cdrom to read the xp disc ( or anything for that matter )

but.. i deleted linux so now theres no os on my comp.. it just loads up error 15 in ubuntu linux....

can anyone give me pointers on how to get this comp going again... i just need it to work... im not going to use it to go online or anything.. i want to use it to tune my car..

you can actually press f12 at the beggining and have it boot from whatever u want.. but if i do that it says cardbus nic failed
 
i called a computer repair shop... they told me i should be able to boot without the hard drive.. so i tried that and it said no bootable devices found-cardbus nic failed
 
ok well.. i just found out that its still on warranty.. so i contacted dell and they said the cd/dvd rom was bad.. so they are sending me a new one... u guys think thats all thats wrong with it??? thanks
