Dell inspiron 1501 wireless not working

Hi guys, my friend ask me to look at his dell inspiron 1501 laptop and the wireless card is not working in it. Nothing comes up in the laptop that shows he even has wireless capability, i cant search for wireless networks, theres no wireless icon in network connections for me to enable wireless. I tried the downloads from dell.com and nothing work, i heard i might have to install ndiswrapper in order for it to work but i dont know about that. any suggestions? thanks.
 
Check under device manager and see if there is a wireless network adapter even listed. It sounds more like the card has gone bad so the computer no longer recognizes that it's there.
 
Ok then It's either gone bad or you don't actually have one. The easiest solution would be to buy a usb wireless adapter.
