Hello all,
I have a Dell Inspiron 5000e that will only operate when it is plugged into the wall. I have two batteries for it. They both have a button to show their level of charge. Both display a full charge, that is all of the lights light up. However with either or both batteries installed the computer will not operate unless it is also plugged into the wall. As long as it is plugged into the wall it doesn't matter how many batteries you have one, two, or none - it still works. If it is NOT plugged into the wall the same applies, it doesn't not matter how many of my batteries are installed, it will not work.
Could the two batteries both be shot? Do you think i could just buy replacement batteries and have it fully functional? What else could cause this problem?
I would appreciate any and all help - especially if you have experienced this problem before or if know any web recources that may be able to help me sort this out. Thanks.
