I have a Inspiron 9200 it has verticle multicolored lines on the screen it started with one and then another and then another now it fills the whole screen. What is this how can I fix it?:confus:mad::(ed:

It's probably on it's way out, test with another card/system. If you can't, check temps, reseat card making sure the bus is clean, test with another VGA cable, things like that.

My husband hooked up his desktop monitor to the laptop the lines didn't show on that screen. What does this mean. Do I need to buy a new monitor where can I find replacement monitors

It's a lappy, I need reading comprehension schooling.

It means the heat is removed from the VGA and centered on the screen or the internal connectors, cabling. If you're comfortable repairing it yourself, you can probably find a replacement screen, or firstly ensure the integrity of the internal VGA cables, make sure they're seated properly, nothing out of place, etc.

This is funny though; is something like this normal in Laptops because my sister-in-law is starting to have the same problem. I don't remember what her computer name brand is but yeah she is having the same problem

Yeah it's normal, saying this from my limited experience with laptops. Many times it's just an internal connector pulled alittle loose.

Those lines can mean many things. Sometimes it's video card related (either hardware issues or heat) but if the line(s) are always the same, it's probably something within the LCD itself.
