Dell Inspiron cpu 100%

OK, when you click on Processes in the task manager, there should be quite a few processes in there. Which one is fluctuating and has a high number next to it?

Make sure you click on show processes from all users and then click on the cpu column to sort by cpu percentage, you will then find the process using the most cpu. Tell us what it is. System idle process at a high percentage is normal.

OK, you need to take a screen shot of task manager and post it. I think you are getting confused.

Next to each? We know System Idle Process will be high as that is normal..which one has the 89 too 100% next to it under processes? There can never be a 100% next to one process then there also be another process with 100%. Out of all the processes..each one will add up to the complete CPU usage that you are seeing at the bottom of the task manager.

I like your thinking johnB.

Who the hell keeps deleting their posts in this thread? I keep seeing responses shifting from page to page.
