You'll need the chipset, sound, graphics and network drivers minimum. If you haven't got a CD with those on you can enter the service code of the laptop to find the drivers for it on the Dell support site.

The Dell Support Site should have all the drivers you'll need, but Windows should have the basic ones so you can at least get to the Dell support site and get the better drivers.

You should have all the drivers on a disc Called "Dell Resources CD". Dell is I believe the only company that does this. When you install the os you must load the cd and open and install all of the drivers on the cd that have a green check mark next to them.
