hey everyone. well i just got a dell latitude notebook and i am having an issue with my USB ports. well ysterdy while my comp was plugged into the power supply i plugged in my USB mouse. it would work for a min. then start messing up. it would work on and off. but when the laptop is running on the bettery the ports are fine and the mouse works fine. so i asked my IT dept. at my school and they told me to try plug the power adapter into the wall and not the power strip because of power distribution or somethin like that. i just wanted to know if the power supply in the strip would cause such a thing and if by plugging it into the wall will solve the problem. so far it has and i have no problems. any opinions. thanks

Only thing I can think of, is make sure your drivers are up to date, and unplug the power strip from the wall, unplug anything hooked up, plug everything back in. May be giving you an odd amount of power to the adapter. I installed new drivers from the dell website on my buddies e1505 and it works great now. If that doesn't work it sounds like it is something in your power adapter...maybe defective?
