My older laptop is a dell Latitude d505 and I am currently upgrading some of the hardware on it like the memory and hard drive to help improve its performance. After reading the specs on the laptop (http://www.dell.com/downloads/us/products/latit/d505_spec.pdf) I am a little confused at what type of graphics card the laptop has and what its performance is. I would like to know what kind of graphics card the laptop has because when I run programs like google sketchup the performance can be sluggish. To some everything up I would like to know if this laptops graphics card can be upgraded.

Intel® 855GME integrated UMA graphics chipset

And as far as i know laptop video cards cannot be upgraded...

what you can maybe do is go into the bios and increase the shared memory for the video card if your bios supports this. this of course takes away from your physical memory.

No, that particular laptop's graphics card can not be upgraded. Even if it could be, you'd be very limited to what you could upgrade to, and typically would have a very poor cost/performance ratio.
