dell latitude d620 laptop memory help

I just installed 2 1gb memory cards one goes under the keyboard and another on the bottom of the laptop

I installed the first one and started the computer and it said new ram had been installed I then put the second one in and I never got that message again. How do I get the laptop to see the other mem card?

any help would be appreciated.
 
thanks for the replies guy, after trying it 4 times it finally worked I guess it was not "seated securely" although I did not notice any difference in how I put it in each time.
