what it it like to use the battery that comes with the dell m1710 XPS

??

the web site says it last about 2 hours?


generally speaking can anyone please share there experince on how quickly till the battery dies etc....??

its says the XPS M1710 last approx 2 hours.

so, do u mean, if i am not running anything at all and the screen contrast is way dsown real low.

Dell sells 2 different types of batteries, 6 cell and 9 cell. The 6 cell can last about 2-3 hours (depending on settings used), and the 9 cell can last 4-5 hours (depending on settings used).

I have a 9 cell in my laptop, and as long as I keep the brightness at about 3/4, and the bluetooth and wi-fi off when I'm not using it, I can get about 4-5 hours out of it if I'm not doing anything processor intensive.

the xps already came with 9 cell battery but still lasts only 2 hours because of the stuff on it 7900gs and 7200rpm drives... depending on the customization. this model has bling blings ie. lights on front panel on the back panel and neon lights on the side where the fans are.
