Ok actually this is a rant.
This is the spec (work pc):
P4 2.8Ghz
1GB ram DDR2 PC2-4300
150GB Sata (1) HD
128MB on board (intel 82915G Xpress Chipset

and this is the spec of my home pc:
Intel Celeron 2.8Ghz
1.5GB DDR2 PC2-4200
80 GB Sata (1) XP
120GB Sata (1) osX86
Nvidia GForce 6200 TB

ok so comparing the 2 my dell performs like crap.
Why ?
i was just copying a file off my mp3 player about 15 minute ago,and i inserted a cd, and bam, PC froze so i waited like 10 mins (cause ctrl+alt-del wasn't working), but nah no life, my pc needed a reboot.
Opening the start menu on my dell, it takes approx 11 sec (yes it shows the little torch searching).
To remove a usb device you have to wait another 10 sec to actually see the message pop up. throught this year i've formatted my dell 4 times but my home PC only 1, not counting when my C drive corrupted.
I never have slowness on my home pc considering i have more apps at home and even VMware, geez.

So basically my thread is not about celeron and P4 , it's really about dell, dell sucks
am so pissed off now.

(edit: yes i lost the file on my mp3 player when i rebooted :()

Hmm.. either Dell supplied you with cheapo 5200 RPM 2MB cache HDD's, or you never defrag. Compaq/HP/Dell's desktop hard drives suck. Period.

Dell Inspiron 1200 running strong.
