Dell PSU

I tried a regular ATX PSU in my broken Dell and it works fine..I always thought I would have to get a Dell wired PSU...Whats up with that? I still need a PSU because the one I tried was just a spare I had that makes terrible noise...Gotta get a new one...The numbers on the Dell PSU are HP-P2507FW....

What does the HP mean? I know its a 250watt but will this work?

Power supplies are universal except on older dells where dell put proprietary connectors on psu+motherboard. The HP probably is just part of the part number, it doesnt really matter the model number, just that it is an atx power supply.
