You will need to call them and talk to someone directly. They may or may not charge you for them, depending on a few factors.

ok, i'll try calling them aswell, but jdbennet, are you saying i can use a xp disk and the 98 produt key to reinstall it?

o right, i thaught you meant it ran xp

but with 98, yes

you can use any key with any disk, just so long as they key is valid and for that same version e.g retail, upgrade or OEM.

a 98SE key should not be used for a 98 disk and vice versa, but just so you know, these OSes do not have product activation, and will actually take ANY key regardless of whether its for 95,98, 98SE or NT4 , just so long as its the right version (full , upgrade or OEM). but that would be illegal of course

dont try and geta 98 recovery disk from dell. they wont do it. they aint allowed to distribute 98 any more.

No, the 98 product key will not activate XP.

Are you sure about that? Earlier this year, I was able to get a recovery disk for a Gateway machine that ran 98. Cost me $20, directly from Gateway...

its supposed not to be available via oem channels any more

but maybe that only applies to new licences, not replacement media?
