does anyone know how to disable dell support (support.exe) from starting up when windows starts? I have windows xp SP2. I've looked in services as well as msconfig and I dont see it anywhere. it never used to load till i stupidly upgraded the support software. :rolleyes: :mad:
 
Dell support says it is on the startup tab when you run MSCONFIG

If you can't find it, have you tried using add/remove programs under control panel?

I don't have a dell, so its a shot in the dark for me.
 
ok, just to clarify, when you run MSCONFIG, you are looking for the filename on the startup tab, right?

If so, did you try the add/remove programs under control panel?
 
yes i am looking under the startup tab and i checked the other tabs too just incase. it is under the add/remove control panel but i dont want to remove it from the computer completely because dell requires it for repairs i guess. its not a huge deal i just end the process when i start the computer.
