Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP for $599 ?

Dell is selling this for 599.99, 100 dollars off 699.99 (in Canadian dollars). Should I buy it, or wait for the new model, and when does that come out exactly?

The contrast ratio (3000:1) doesn't seem that impressive compared to other, cheaper monitors.
