Dell vostro 1014 weird color problem

So my girlfriend has had dell vostro 1014 for 3 years and it has had a few problems before but this one is too hard for me to crack so i come here to find some answers (hopefully).
About the problem: When the computer is turned on then the screen starts flashing in black, white, red, green and blue colors and that's it. At first i tought that the computer is fully broken but then i heard the windows welcome sound and that's when i connected it to an old monitor. On the monitor it looks like nothing is wrong and everything works fine but the laptop screen keeps flashing in colors i mentioned before.
I asked my girlfriend that did she did something different before the problem occured and i got an aswer like "...something came up. It wanted me to press F2 or F5 (either F2 or F5 had the way to go to system restore) and so she did press one of them (the one with the system restore description). Unfortunately she does not speak english very good so she did not fully understand what the computer said next.
So i ask for your help to crack this one. I also recorded a video of it to make the problem clear.
I hope you guys can help.

Try connecting it to an external monitor. If it works fine through that, then the LCD panel is probably bad.

As you can see on the video that i tried it. The picture came on the monitor with no problems but the laptop screen still flashed in different colours.

Sorry I didn't watch all of the video. I'd then assume it's a bad LCD.

You can pull it out and just try re-seating the cable. No guarantees that would work.

There's no way to fix the LCD panel itself - it would have to be replaced.

YOu said used the external monitor is ok but LCD is not ok.

Seems the problem is the inverter problem.
Also look like a LCD self test pattern as well.

You may want to ask some techs to look at the problem for you.

For now, you may try the following simple reset and discharge:
1. remove all power sources including power adapter and battery.
2. pressing the laptop power button over 15 seconds do not let go.
3. connect the power cord only and power on the laptop again.

Hope this helps.
