Dell Warranty info

Just for information I just received my E1505 three weeks ago and I love it. I only went with the 1-year warranty. Now if I went with the 4-year warranty at time of purchase it would have cost me $250.00 more so I decided to just go with the one year. Well this week in the mail they sent me a so-called exclusive offer to purchase the 4-year warranty at $229.00 with $75 in dell dollars also. Well I thought its only a $20 savings so I think I will still wait to the 11 month of my warranty to decide if I will extend it or not. Well today I get a call from dell trying to pitch the offer they sent me. They went on explaining all the benefits of this exclusive offer and I still said I would think about it. Then they asked me the reason why I needed to think about it, is it because of the price and I said yes. Well how about we take off the $75 dell dollars, which now brings the price to $154.00 for a 4-year contract? I said I’ll take it. Anybody who wants an extended warranty at time of purchase I personally would just get the one-year and I’m sure you will get it cheaper after purchase.

Depends on the product I'm buying, I wouldn't extend the warranty of my TV, but definitely for my laptop. That is actually a pretty good deal.

I thought it was a great deal that is why I said I’ll take it. They really try to push the extras at time of purchase. I new if I waited to the 11 month of my 1-year warranty that I would pay a little more then if I had purchased it at the time of purchase but I never thought I would save a $100 bucks after the sale. Strange how things worked out. That’s why I wanted to bring this to anybody’s attention if they were in the market for a dell laptop. They will probably get the same offer.

I've had the Dell E1505 laptop since last year (around April). So far I've had no major problems with the laptop except [recently] a wobbly screen and part of the white trim pop up. I have the 1 year warranty and was thinking about sending it in to get it fixed but I'm afraid I'll end up with possibly a few dead or stuck pixels.
