My wife recently spilled water on our computer almost a week ago. It shut off automatically and won't turn back on. When I plug the power cord into the wall the light on the converter comes on. When I plug the other end of the cord into the computer the light on the converter goes out instantly before I can even try to turn the computer back on. I've also noticed some corrosion on two usb ports. My best guess is that some corrosion is causing a short. Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to clean off corrosive computer parts or any other suggestions?

Your best bet is take it in and have it professionally cleaned but they might tell you just to buy a new one, because it might cost more to fix then to just buy a new one. Liquid and laptops don't mix.
